The taxon is a primary homonym of Phalaena (Tinea) merianella Linné, 1758 (=Eulamprotes wilkella Linné, 1758). The description best fits for Micropterix aureatella Scopoli, 1763

Description of adults: Original description by [Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775: "Purpurgoldener Schm.[etterling] mit 3. blaßgoldenen Querbändern. La teigne dorée à bandes d´argent Geoffr." Translation of german text: Purple-golden moth with 3 pale golden transverse fasciae. Translation of french text: Of golden appearance with silvery bands Geoffr. [sic !].

Diagnosis:

The description by [Denis & Schiffermüller] (1775) most probably refers to Micropterix aureatella Scopoli, 1763, which is the only purple moth with three golden transverse fasciae within the federal territory of Vienna (Huemer & Tarmann 1993).
