Description of adults: Examined: 1 , 1 . Wing expanse: 70 mm, 74 mm. Head black-brown, vertex and frons densely covered with black-brown, short hair-like scales, this colouration running into a tip towards basis of proboscis; around eyes and lateral parts of face with short, whitish hair-like scales; eyes very large, semiglobular, dark brown; antennae nearly 1/2 of forewing length, black; thorax black-brown on upperside, laterally with whitish-grey, brownish mixed hair-like scales, which are shorter anteriorly and longer posteriorly; these scales with greenish shimmer; forewings high and narrow in shape, with extended, somewhat tapering apex and convex, posteriorly undulated outer margin; upperside black with cross-rows of light green, differently sized spots: submarginally, a row of small spots; postdiscally, an inwardly oblique row of bigger, more edged spots; nearly in a right angle to that row, three narrow cross fasciae of 3-5 small spots at basis and postbasally; several small spots in distal part of cell and postdiscally; hindwings black too, with three small white spots at anterior margin, an outwardly black, inwardly indistinct whitish-grey fold at inner margin and an undulate outer margin, bearing a relatively short and broad tail at M3; parallel to inner margin two very elongate, light green spots, as well as two cross-rows of small, light green spots postdiscally and submarginally, the latter missing in some populations; underside umber brown with pinkish gloss and similar markings of ligth green rows of spots, the latter becoming whitish on forewing submarginally and towards apex; at hindwing, a bigger white spot in middle of costal margin, accompanied by an elongate, small black spot proximally, the latter bordered red proximally; in fork between RR and M1 a small, round black spot, proximally followed by a whitish patch with reddish shimmer; a small red spot at distal end of fold of inner margin; this fold like on upperside black outwards, whitish inwards; underside of thorax densely covered with short whitish hair-like scales; legs scaled whitish too, with numerous small black spines on tibiae and tarsi; abdomen black at upperside, laterally a longitudinal row of small, indistinct whitish spots and brownish colouration ventrally to this row and greenish-white scaling at underside; area between thorax and abdomen with greenish hair-like scales at upperside and reddish ones laterally.

Distribution:

Häuser et al. (2005) report the species from the following countries: Australia, Brunei, China, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar (Burma), Nepal, Philippines, Singapore, Solomon Islands, Thailand, Vietnam.
