Distribution:

The species is known from the southern slopes of the Mongolian Altai and the Dzhungarian Gobi desert (Yakolev 2012).

Diagnosis:

The species is similar to Lycaena splendens (Staudinger, 1881), but differs in the hindwings, where the black spots are strongly reduced, especially on the underside. In the male genitalia, the uncus is slender and the juxta shorter (Bozano & Weidenhoffer 2001).
