Type: Holotype : Bala Quran, Anjuman Valley, Hindu Kush Mts., Afghanistan, 14,300 ft., 4 August 1960

Synonyms, misspellings, wrong determinations, etc.:
Lycaena aeolides Churkin, 1999. Type locality: Tajikistan, Fanskie mts., 15 km SW from Modovra v., Kulikalon lake, 3200 m. Subspecies.

Distribution:

Following Bozano & Weidenhoffer (2001), the species is distributed in high altitudes in Afghanistan (Hindukush), Kirghizia and Tajikistan (Pamir, Zeravshan range, Fanskie mts.)

Diagnosis:

The male is recognized by its dove-grey underside (Bozano & Weidenhoffer 2001).
