Distribution:

L. argilella has been recorded from Austria and Slovakia (Karsholt & Nieukerken 2004), whereas records from Romania are doubtful (RŠkosy et al., 2003). Following Zagulajev (1978), the species has been found also in the Caucasus mountains.

Biology:

There arenīt any data available about the bilogy of L. argilella.

Stages in development:

The early stages are unknown.

Diagnosis:

From most other unicolorous species, like Lampronia splendidella (Heinemann, 1870), L. argilella may be readily distinguished by its bigger size. Large specimens of Incurvaria koerneriella (Zeller, 1839) or some forms of Incurvaria triglavensis Hauder, 1912 can be distinguished by the antennae, which are more delicate and ciliated in L. argilella [?].
