Distribution:

Following Karsholt & Nieukerken (2004), the species has been found in France, Italy, Austria, Romania, Sweden and Finland. The records from Scandinavia however, also might belong to a yet undescribed species (Kullberg et al. 2001). Only two records are available about the vertical distribution which reach from near sea level to about 150 m a.s.l. (Rebel 1889, Kurz et al. 2009).

Biology:

There aren´t any data available about the biology of L. aeripennella. The imagines have been found in May (Rebel 1889, Kurz et al. 2009).

Stages in development:

The early stages are unknown.

Diagnosis:

Externally, the species is quite similar to Lampronia morosa Zeller, 1852 and Lampronia pubicornis (Haworth, 1828). L. morosa has the vestiture of hair-like scales on the head brown instead of yellow, the ground colour is lighter, the tornal spot more prominent. L. pubicornis on the other hand misses the tornal spot completely. Furthermore, the antennae in that species do not have a fan of scales on each segment like in L. aeripennella.
