Best distinguished from C. auratus by the antennae, the basal 4 segments being yellowish-red in auratus, wheras in auronitens only the basalmost segment is brownish-red. The legs are also lighter, yellowish-red in auratus, but brownish-red in auronitens. C. nitens is much smaller and has black legs and antennal segments.
