Description of adults: Examined: 2 , 1 . Forewing length: 5.2-5.4 mm, 4.8 mm. Head black-brown, vestiture of hair-like scales on the head rusty yellow, partly mixed black; face smoothly scaled, metallic greenish-golden shining; eyes semiglobular, dark brown, about 0.4 mm in diameter; distance of eyes (frontally) about 0.5 mm; labial palpi only about 0.5 mm long, directed ahead, with yellowish scales and distant black bristles; distal segment of labial palpi pointed, coppery to bronzy golden shining; haustellum yellowish scaled basally; antennae more than 2 1/2 times the forewing length in , filiform, basal 1/5 brown with violet shimmer, distal part whitish; in , antennae about 1 1/3 times the forewing length, proximal 3/4 of the length brown with violet shimmer, distal part whitish; thorax and tegulae intensively greenish bronzy-golden, in with intensive purplish tinge; forewings in greenish bronzy-golden in basal 1/4, distally increasingly purple and purple-violet towards costal margin; at almost 3/5 a slightly outwardly oblique, indistinctly bordered, moderately broad, yellowish-white cross-fascia from inner margin across more than 3/4 of wing width, but not reaching costal margin; fringe purple at apex, reddish bronzy-golden at outer margin; forewings in generally darker, more purple-violet, especially in distal half of wing; cross-fascia at 3/5 distinctly narrower than in , even more indistinctly bordered; fringe purple-violet; hindwings completely covered with broad scales, dark brown, with intensive violet shimmer, especially apically; a delicate bronzy golden to reddish golden shining line at basis of cilia; fringe bronzy golden to purple shining, lighter towards tornus; underside dark brown with vivid bronzy golden to coppery-violet glance, the cross-fascia only indistictly indicated; thorax on underside metallic greenish bronzy-golden shining; legs similar, tibia, especially midtibia, more purplish; foretibia with epiphysis; midtibia with a pair of spurs at distal end; hindtibia with long hair-like scales and a pair of spurs each at about 0.5 of tibial length and at distal end; abdomen at upperside dark brown with purple shimmer, vividly greenish bronzy-golden shining at underside.

Distribution:

Following Karsholt & Nieukerken (2013), the species is known from Spain, the western Balkans, but also from Austria. First records for Italy and Greece are presented here. Vertically, records are known from about 600 - 1700 m a.s.l. (Kurz & Kurz 2014).

Biology:

Imagines are on the wing from May on in one generation per year and inhabit dry and warm edges of bushland. The are active during daytime (Kurz & Kurz 2014).
