genitalia. Uncus moderately long and slender; accessory claspers reduced, inwards the tegumen and bent upwards, very slender and spatulate at their tips; their anterior margins with 8 - 10 inwardly directed, long and stout, thickend setae with hook-like tips; distal margin of the tegumen enlarged to sclerotized lobes at both sides, which bear an anterior row of very short, simple, but stout and thickend setae and a posterior row of about 14 very lng, straight, stout and thickend setae with somewhat enlarged tips; a second pair of smaller sclerotized lobes between the first pair and the valvae, which bear two similar rows of thickend setae, the posterior row constisting only of 6 long setae; valves moderately short, constricted medially, spatulate at their tips and slightly bent upwards; at their inner surface postbasally with two short, stout and thickend setae, the spatulate tips with two rows of short to moderatley long, stout and thickend setae, as well as some longer setae.

genitalia. Tergite IX missing; sternite IX much reduced, constricted medially and only weakly sclerotized; lateral and anterior margins very indistinct; papillae anales with two characteristic, paddle-like well sclerotized plates; receptaculum seminis moderately long and slender, distinctly constricted at about 1/4 of its length, striated; vestibulum large, bag-like.

Externally, the differ from typical Micropterix corcyrella Walsingham, 1919 by a more bronze golden rather than reddish golden ground color. The on the other hand, are clearly distinguished from the typical form by being avoid of any markings. With this sexual dichroism, M. corcyrella cephaloniensis closely resembles Micropterix aruncella (Scopoli, 1763). Besides their characteristic genitalia in both sexes, the males of M. corcyrella cephaloniensis can be distinguished from M. aruncella by their distinctly bordered markings, whereas the females miss the purple coloration at the base of the costa.

Phylogeny: There aren´t any differences in the male or female genitalia to typical M. corcyrella, therefore the taxon is assumed to be of subspecific state.
