Distribution:

The single European species attributed to the taxon Dyseriocrania, E. (D.) subpurpurella, is distributed in most European countries. Two additional species are know from North America (Davis 1978).

Diagnosis:

From typical Eriocrania, Dyseriocrania mainly differs in the following charcters: 1) Sensory fields on abdominal segment V much larger than on segment IV, 2) male genitalia without socii and 3) lobes of uncus in male genitalia only poorly separated.
